I read it a couple of years ago, in college, so I really need to re-read it. Sean Carman: The Last Book I Loved, The Master and Margarita. Mikhail Bulgakov's 'unstageable' masterpiece at the Barbican. The Master and Margarita at the Barbican. It's about: Disguised as a foreigner, the devil makes a visit to Soviet Russia. In many ways, what I witnessed in my mind's eye whilst reading The Master and Margarita was similar to what I experienced in the production. "The Master and Margarita" is one of my favorite books! It was such a treat to see Simon McBurney/Complicité's production of Bulgakov's masterpiece The Master and Margarita in Paris last week. The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov, trans.
